My Funny Valentine's

It is days like this that I truly am grateful I get to stay home with my kids.  The kids woke up to all sorts of fun things Valentine morning, from candy to crafts to silly glasses.  We had a Valentine theme all day.  We started with heart shaped pancakes for breakfast.  Then we played games and did craft project as you can see decorating the whole house.  We blew up balloons for our "party" we were having later when daddy got home.  Then for lunch we had heart shaped PB & J and heart shaped apples.  After nap/rest time we made heart shaped cookies!!!  Then daddy arrived to a decorated house, homemade Chicken Parmesan and 2 kids that love him more than anything!!

These are pictures from Will's Valentine's Party which was on Monday.   He had fun making bracelets, playing hot potato and lounging in a bean bag chair!!

Emma's 1st Haircut

Well we finally gave Emma her 1st haircut and we wanted to make it memorable and special as we had done for Will. We took her to a fun place called The Hairy Elephant that is totally geared toward kids. They have all sorts of toys to play with, fun cars to sit in while you get you haircut and tv's to watch.
For the first haircut they do a ceritficate and keep a lock of their hair.

Emma did really good but there were a few moments when she had the look of "what in the world is going on".

I had to do a little flashback to Will's first haircut.  Now his was just before his 1st birthday vs. Emma @ 22 months.  Can't believe my babies are getting so big :(

All grown up but still wanting to go for a ride!!

Christmas in February

So I figured it was time to post about our Christmas. We had a great one with many Christmas's!!! We had a nice quiet Christmas Eve just the 4 of us where we went to mass, drove around looking at Christmas lights and looking for the red blinking light in the sky. We then came home and got our cookies and milk ready for Santa and we also had some reindeer food to put out front (Will said that we needed to put it on the roof but we talked him into just putting it on the front lawn)!! We then ended our evening with reading "Twas the Night before Christmas". The kids woke up Christmas morning to presents galore!!! Santa didn't actually spend a lot this year but they each got several gifts plus one big one. Will ended up with a Puppet Show because he is always performing and putting on different shows for us and Emma got one of those red Cozy Coupes (both presents Santa found @ a resale shop for $10 each (I can still by used while they are young and they know no different)!!! Santa is quite the savy shopper!!

Before I forget about Chippy I had to mention him.  Last year The Elf on the Shelf arrived on Christmas Day and this was our first year to have the entire experience.  The kids loved finding out where Chippy was every morning and that was the first thing they both looked for.  Below is a picture of how Chippy made his entrance this year bringing the enite train with him!!  Chippy was quite the fun elf from playing board games, toilet papering the Christmas tree, fishing for goldfish and many other things.  I hope next year I can remember to get pictues!!!

After Christmas morning at our house we then went to Mike's moms house to spend with his side.  The kids all had a blast and it was quite the musical Christmas where Will & Kali both got Guitars, Will got a microphone and Ava got a karaoke machine.  It was a lot of fun!!!  Oh......Emma got a mini Princess ATV!!

One week later we travled to Kansas where we had yet another Christmas with my family this time.  It was a Pirate themed Christmas for Will complete with a treasure Chest and Pirate Costume.  Both the kids got some great gifts and both Mike and I walked away feeling very grateful for all that we have to be thankful for.  It was a very Blessed Year and we hope that this coming year is just as blessed!!!
