Happy Anniversary!!!!

Today is our 2nd anniversary. It's hard to believe what we have accomplished (making another little human) in just 2 short years. Time flies. It has been an amazing 2 years and we celebrated over the weekend by going out to dinner in between feedings and early enough so we could be home to put Will to bed. Oh, the life of a parent.

Pumpkin Patch

Will went to his first Pumpkin Patch over the weekend with his cousins and got to see all sorts of fun new things. He went on his first hayride and slept through the entire ride. He did really well and seemed to enjoy checking everything out.

Posing with my cousins Kali & Ava

It's not quite a horse but close enough for now.

Will's Baptism

We had a wonderful weekend. It was great seeing all my family. I can't thank everyone enough for driving all the way to be there for Will's baptism. It really says something when you have that much family driving all that way.

Everyone arrived Saturday and we did dinner and a bonfire. Will was the center of attention. At one point I found him in the middle of the living room sitting in his bumbo surrounded by my entire family. Everyone wanted to see him roll over and I didn't think he would just b/c but sure enough he rolled from belly to back for all to see.

Sunday was the big day and Will was a perfect angel. He is now baptized and Mike and I are now responsible for teaching him the Catholic religion, so I guess that means we need to start going to Church on a more regular basis.

Parents as Teachers

We had Will's first Parents as Teachers meeting. For those who don't know it is a state funded program where a Parent Educator comes to your house and makes sure your little one is developing on track. They make 5 visits a year and teach the parents things we can do to make sure our baby develops on track.

Will got a glowing report and is even ahead in some areas. We did tummy time to show her how we can hold up our head and chest. He, of course, wouldn't rollover for her but he can do it. In fact, Monday night he rolled from his belly to his back. He can roll both ways now. We showed her how he can grab at toys and put them directly in his mouth, and how he is even trying to sit up. Okay, enough of me bragging.

We have a full weekend. Will is being baptized this weekend and we have my entire family coming up this weekend. Saturday night we are doing dinner and a bonfire. Most of my family has never even seen our place so it should be fun. Sunday, is the baptism and then we are doing lunch at our house before everyone heads back to Kansas. We are also supposed to attend an Oktoberfest on Saturday for a couple of hours. I will have tons of pics for my next post.

In Loving Memory

On Thursday, October 2nd, 2008 we had to put Sophie to rest. She lived a long and full life of 14+ years and had been in so many peoples lives. From Kasold (my old house in Lawrence, KS) to St. Louis. She has been my companion and friend. Someone I could come home to when I lived by myself.

For about a year now she has been plagued with seizures, tumors and many different things. She always seemed to bounce back but recently she had lost her spunk.
I am grateful I was able to get this last year out of her and that she was able to meet Will.

She will be missed.
